Tour Description

Your journey begins with a scenic drive through Northern Greece towards the historic region of Amphipolis, where our first stop is the impressive Lion of Amphipolis. This magnificent marble monument is one of the most recognizable archaeological landmarks in Greece and stands as a symbol of the ancient city’s rich history.

We then continue to Ancient Philippi, one of Greece’s most important archaeological sites and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Founded by King Philip II of Macedon in the 4th century BC, Philippi later became a thriving Roman colony and one of the first places in Europe visited by Apostle Paul during his missionary journeys. Explore the remarkable archaeological park, including the ancient theatre, Roman Forum, early Christian basilicas, city walls, and the traditional site associated with the imprisonment of Saint Paul.

After exploring Philippi, we continue to the beautiful coastal city of Kavala, one of Northern Greece’s most charming destinations.

Built amphitheatrically above the Aegean Sea, Kavala perfectly combines history with modern Mediterranean life. During your free time, you can stroll along the picturesque harbour, explore the charming Old Town, admire the impressive Ottoman aqueduct (Kamares), browse local boutiques, or relax at a traditional waterfront café or taverna while enjoying authentic Greek cuisine.

This private tour offers the perfect combination of archaeology, early Christian history, coastal beauty, and authentic Greek culture, creating an unforgettable day in Eastern Macedonia.
