Next, we head towards the village of Petralona, just a short drive away. Here you will visit the famous Petralona Cave, one of the most important prehistoric sites in Greece. Discovered in 1959, the cave is known for its impressive stalactites and stalagmites, as well as significant archaeological findings, including remains of ancient animals and early human presence.
During your visit, you can explore the cave and the nearby museum, where exhibits present fossils of bears, lions, hyenas, and other species that lived in the area thousands of years ago.
Before returning, we make a relaxing stop at a local family winery in the Petralona area, where you can enjoy a tasting of traditional, locally produced wines.
